# September 2026

> Tread releases in September 2026: 7 web, 1 mobile. Use the Web and Mobile filters to narrow the list.

<Update label="September 16, 2026" tags={["Web"]}>
  #### New features

  **Digital ticket view default** — The default digital ticket view is now an admin-visible toggle under Settings › Configuration, so companies can set it themselves instead of requesting a change (rolling out gradually).

  **Interactive Haul Report** — The Haul Report is now interactive: click a chart bar to filter the whole dashboard, search projects by partial name, and export to CSV in a single click instead of a multi-step export.

  **Chase Missing Tickets by default** — Admins can turn on [Chase Missing Tickets](/specialized/digital-tickets) by default from a new Order & Project Defaults section under Settings › Configuration, so every new order and project picks it up automatically.

  #### Improvements

  * Settings › Integrations reads more cleanly, with redundant vendor and section labels removed.
</Update>

<Update label="September 15, 2026" tags={["Web"]}>
  #### New features

  **Payment Terms** — Create and manage payment terms directly in Tread. A new settings page lets you define terms with a company default. Payment terms can be imported from [QuickBooks](/integrations/quickbooks), mapped on the QuickBooks mapping page, and assigned on settlements to automatically calculate due dates.

  **Per-load fuel surcharge schedule** — [Fuel surcharge schedules](/specialized/fuel-surcharges) now support a per-load type: a flat dollar amount per load, tiered by fuel price index, alongside the existing percentage and per-unit options.

  **Dismiss AI reviews** — Approvers can now dismiss an AI review on any ticket if the result isn't relevant, keeping the approval queue clean. AI review badges have also been refined for clarity.

  **Materials filter in Approve Jobs** — A new Materials filter on the Approve Jobs page lets you filter by material for faster approvals.

  **In-product Help Center** — A Help Center icon now appears in the product, linking directly to training materials at docs.tread.ai.

  #### Improvements

  * Broker Fees vendor and customer lists are now sorted alphabetically and include a search box.
  * Tread Agent now streams its reasoning to the chat and shows clearer activity descriptions instead of technical tool names.
  * Messaging recipient pickers on web now include shared drivers and owner-operators.
</Update>

<Update label="September 10, 2026" tags={["Web"]}>
  #### New features

  **Ticket approval controls** — The Approve button now always appears alongside AI reviews, so approvers can stamp their own sign-off without hunting for a dropdown. You can also dismiss an AI review on any ticket if the result isn't relevant.

  **Broadcast reply context** — Private replies to broadcast messages now show which broadcast they respond to. The composer displays a "Replying privately to: \[broadcast name]" banner, and sent messages include a quoted-context block so dispatchers can tell exactly which broadcast a reply belongs to.

  **Messaging for shared drivers and owner-operators** — Dispatchers can now send direct messages and broadcasts to shared drivers and owner-operators, not just drivers employed by the dispatching company.

  #### Improvements

  * Freight rate cards now label the customer-rate quantity as "Quoted Quantity" for clarity.
  * The order card company chip now shows the full owning account name on hover instead of truncating.
  * Load Reports now include a potential duplicate ticket flag for reporting dashboards.
</Update>

<Update label="September 8, 2026" tags={["Web"]}>
  #### New features

  **QuickBooks mapping redesign** — The [QuickBooks](/integrations/quickbooks) mapping page has been rebuilt with a Tread-first layout. Customers, Vendors, Items, and Ledger tabs now show your Tread entities as rows with QuickBooks matches picked per row. A new Advanced Configuration menu lets you choose whether QuickBooks assigns its own document numbers on exported invoices and bills.

  #### Improvements

  * The equipment dialog now includes an "Owned by" picker to assign truck ownership to a connected vendor, with clearer fleet attribution and an explained empty state when no trucks are available.
  * Job exports now include Pickup Site Address and Dropoff Site Address columns.
  * Configurable export columns are now available to all companies. No setting required.
  * Dispatchers can see when a driver's location is approximate, surfaced as a GPS accuracy indicator in the location popover.
  * The Tread Agent now finds records by name correctly and shows clear error details when an action fails, so it can self-correct instead of giving vague responses.
  * The project "Rate History" tab is renamed "Timeline" for clarity.
  * The Actions column on data grids now stays pinned to the far right and is properly sized.
</Update>

<Update label="September 5, 2026 · v1.118.0" tags={["Mobile"]}>
  #### New features

  **In-app messaging for drivers** — Drivers can now send and receive messages directly in the [driver app](/mobile/driver-app). Start a conversation from the Messages tab or from a job card, attach images and files, tap phone numbers and addresses to call or navigate, and see new messages arrive in real time. You can edit or delete your own messages, long-press incoming messages to copy, and unsent drafts are preserved if you leave the app.

  **Order rate change controls** — Unchecking "Apply rate changes to the project and other existing orders" now keeps the change on that order alone and stops it from tracking the project's rates. A clearer impact sheet shows exactly what will be affected before anything cascades. See [how rate changes flow](/workflows/how-rate-changes-flow).

  #### Improvements

  * Hourly drivers get clearer timesheet entry points on the job Info tab, and only see "Log Your Hours" when the rate that pays them is hourly.
  * Create Driver, Add Account, Create Site, and Copy & Edit Order forms now keep your input across an app background or restart.
  * Drivers on approximate location are now prompted to restore precise location, so their tracking stops going stale.
  * Time Log now shows the stop time you saved instead of the current time.
</Update>

<Update label="September 3, 2026" tags={["Web"]}>
  #### New features

  **Equipment ownership: internal and vendor trucks** — The [Equipment](/concepts/equipment) page now has dedicated Internal Trucks and Vendor Trucks tabs, replacing the old Visibility filter. Designate which connected vendor owns each piece of equipment. The correct owner and "Shared by" details appear from every seat in the sharing chain, including CSV import and export.

  **Settings → Billing** — Billing contacts can now view and pay Tread invoices directly from Settings → Billing. See open and paid invoices, set up bank payments (ACH), view your bank account on file, and access the billing portal, all self-serve.

  **Deleted Records** — A new Settings → Deleted Records page lets you browse discarded Orders, Jobs, Projects, and Tickets in a tabbed view. Ticket images display as thumbnails with a lightbox for full-size viewing.

  **Dispatch Drivers: Orders view** — The unassigned column on Dispatch → Drivers now has an Orders sub-tab alongside Jobs. Orders are grouped into cards showing order details and customer, with a persistent view toggle.

  #### Improvements

  * Settlement line items for Per Hour jobs now show the timesheet number, making it easier to trace hours back to the source document.
  * The Add On assignment form is simplified: Add On Types default to all, and you can create new Add Ons inline without leaving the form.
  * Quote PDF: combined-rate notes are now footnoted with an asterisk to the specific line items they apply to.
  * Quote PDF: freight lines now show estimated quantity and line totals when a rate card quantity is set.
  * Payment terms now appear on settlement PDFs for QuickBooks-connected companies.
  * Material pickers on orders now show materials from the order's owning company, so vendor-side users see the correct options.
</Update>

<Update label="September 2, 2026" tags={["Web"]}>
  #### Improvements

  * Live ETA recalculation is now rate-limited to reduce unnecessary API calls, with an immediate bypass for leg changes such as arrival or departure.
  * The geofence pipeline now recovers missed first pickups when a driver loads at the pickup site before tapping "start job".
  * Device permission tracking now captures whether a driver granted precise or approximate location.
</Update>

<Update label="September 1, 2026" tags={["Web"]}>
  #### New features

  **HaulWare ticket export** — Companies using HaulWare (FreightWare) can now configure the integration from Settings → Integrations. Approved tickets export automatically on approval or via a nightly batch, with exactly-once delivery and full status tracking.

  **QuickBooks integration: payment terms and invoice details** — Select payment terms when exporting settlements to [QuickBooks](/integrations/quickbooks). Invoice line items now include date of service, dispatch number, and settlement notes in the memo. Settlements now support due dates and payee-facing notes on PDFs.

  #### Improvements

  * Approve Jobs: the timesheet number now appears on the timesheet row and in the detail modal.
  * Approve Jobs: the Map + Hours workspace has an improved layout and readability.
  * The QuickBooks refresh button now shows syncing state, disables during sync, and stamps the last-updated time.
  * Chat: images and files now render inline in message threads with a lightbox for full-size viewing.
  * The data grid pager is redesigned as a cleaner labeled segment control below the table.
  * Connected vendors can now mark receivables settlements as paid.
  * Ticket drawer prev/next now navigates across orders regardless of load states.
