PO, Order ID, and Project ID
Four numbers get mixed up often. Each one lives in a different place. The Project’s Order PO is a starting value. When you create an Order, Tread copies it only if the Order’s PO is empty. After that, the Order keeps its own copy. Changing the Project’s PO later doesn’t change existing Orders.
How fields copy to Orders
A Project works like a template for its Orders. The Copies to Orders column in each table below uses these values:Identifiers
Customer, dates, and status
Notes and terms
All four notes sit on one Notes card, one row each.People and places
Order defaults
Rates and tax
What Drivers don’t see
The Driver app never shows these fields:- Project and Internal notes
- Contract No.
- The Project’s own Order PO (Drivers see the Order’s copy)
- Project # (PROJ-123)
Common pitfalls
- An Order shows an old PO. The Order kept its own copy. Edit the PO on the Order, not the Project.
- A Customer asks for their “Project ID”. They usually mean the Project External ID, not the PROJ number.
- Imported Orders are missing notes or contacts. Imports skip the Web only fields. Add them to the import file.
- A field is missing from your form. Some fields only show if they’re turned on for your company. These include Contract No., Service Class, Ticket Chaser, Enable Live ETA, and Default digital ticket view for drivers. Ask your Tread contact.
