Text a Driver straight from the dispatch they are working on. The message lands on their phone as a regular text, tagged with the Job ID, so the Driver knows which dispatch it’s about.

What Drivers receive

Tread sends each text as an SMS to the phone number on the Driver’s profile. Every text starts with your company name and the Job ID:
The Driver doesn’t need the Tread app open to get it.

Text one Driver

1

Find the job

On the Dispatch page, find the order and expand it to see its jobs.
2

Open the job's actions menu

Click the actions menu (⋯) on the job row, then click Send Text.
3

Write and send

Type your message and click Send. A Text successfully sent alert confirms it went out.
Send Text only shows when the job has a Driver with a phone number on file.

Text all Drivers on an order

1

Open the order's actions menu

On the Dispatch page, click the actions menu (⋯) on the order card.
2

Click Text All Drivers

Text All Drivers sits at the top of the menu.
3

Write and send

Type your message and click Send.
Tread texts the Driver on every job in the order that has a phone number on file. Rejected jobs are skipped.
Tread sends one text per job. A Driver with two jobs on the order gets two texts, one for each Job ID.
In the mobile app, Text All Drivers is in the order card’s Actions sheet.

Troubleshooting

Send Text is on the Dispatch page only. Approvals has no texting menu. Go to Dispatch, find the job, and use its actions menu (⋯). This works on completed jobs too, so you can still text a driver about a ticket problem after the run is done.
The job has no Driver yet, or the Driver has no phone number on file. Add the phone number to the Driver’s profile, then try again. If the option is still missing, your role may not allow texting Drivers. See Roles & Permissions.
The option is hidden on orders that are Completed, Canceled, or Rejected, and on orders you can’t edit.
No job on the order has a Driver with a phone number. Assign Drivers, or add phone numbers to their profiles.
